Y’all probably know by now that Singapore is my favourite place in the world. It’s full of life, it’s vibrant and there’s always something new going on and definitely a place for everyone.
My trip last year was one of the best to date, I explored the city on my own, knew my way around, ventured to all the attractions just so I can get a feel for it again, even though I have been many times before, it feels that little bit special every time.
I have already written a basic travel guide to Singapore which you can find here, and this Instagram guide is just another extension to it.
HOTEL JEN ORCHARDGATEWAY
Let's start with where to stay - If you want to be in the heart of everything, then my number one choice would be Hotel Jen Orchardgateway. Based in a convenient location (close to lots of restaurants and shopping centres) combined with amazing views and the most comfiest beds of all beds, there will be no disappointments.
Full review of the hotel with more pictures here.
Shop to your heart's content along the famous Orchard Road. You find find anything and everything from high street to luxury with some great restaurants too.
A must visit is the iconic Merlion, a national personification of Singapore. The best time to visit is late afternoon, just in time to catch the statue in daylight before it drifts slowly in to the evening and the view is simply stunning.
SMOKE AND MIRRORS BAR
To catch this amazing night view of Marina Bay, hop along to Smoke and Mirrors, a destination roof-top bar atop of Singapore's National Gallery. Have a cocktail or two and enjoy the panoramic view of the city.
The Singapore Zoo is a definite must-visit, no joke. It's one of the best I've ever been to and worth every penny/cent. Expect to spend the whole day there, catching every corner and make sure you factor in the feed times for various animals such as the white tigers, it's quite extraordinary.
Experience breathtaking panoramic views on this giant observation wheel. Each angle offers a moving experience at every turn and is definitely something I could do over and over again. Like the Merlion, the best time to take a trip to the Singapore Flyer is late afternoon to catch both day and early evening views.
Hope you enjoyed this Instagram guide to one of my favourite places ever! Let me know if you have been before or planning a trip, I'd love to know yor thoughts.
