Actions speak louder than words – a phrase that I have always stood by in the best way possible. I’ve learnt that people will always forget what you said, sometimes, what you did also, but they won’t forget how your actions made them feel. How we treat others is often a direct reflection on ourselves and the simple words of ‘how we treat others is the way we expect to be treated back’ rings loudly to me at all times. Being kind was taught by my grandparents from young age and it has never left my thoughts one bit, so in today’s post, I have put together some of my favourite tips to inspire us all be a kinder person.

Empathy is key

When a challenging situation arises, it is super key to put yourself in to someone else’s shoes. More often than not, this will change your perception of things and allow you time to see things differently. Be empathetic, everyone is battling their own worries and concerns and let your natural kindness do its job – it goes a long way.

Avoid gossiping

Without a doubt, gossiping, for some of us can be a favourite pastime – but we often forget that there is someone at the end of the train that we are hurting for our own pleasure. Instead of getting involved in the circle, try and talk positively of others because at the end of the day, you wouldn’t want to be gossiped about, therefore think of others.

Be attentive

When we are more careful of how we treat others, we are more in tune with how they are feeling simply by observing their actions towards us and by talking to them. Being more thoughtful helps us to be kinder and truer in our actions, therefore more mindful in how we respond. Don’t be afraid to immerse yourself in to their world and understand it from their perspective.

Forget the grudges

In the long run, holding grudges don’t benefit us at all – so it’s always best to let them go. I know it’s easier said than done, but keeping hold of them only mentally drains us without solving anything. Move on, forget about it, forgive and you will feel a whole lot better about the situation and in future, you will know you can deal with it.

Be kind to yourself

Finally, don’t forget to do the same for yourself, be kind to your mind and immerse yourself in to all kinds of positivity. Good thinking will always allow you come out at end, on top of everything and enable you to deal with anything that comes your way. Positive mind = positive vibes always!
