Oh my, it’s been over six months since I stepped on the property ladder and purchased my own place. It still feels so surreal to call my home ‘mine’, yet it’s definitely one of the best feelings in the world when you actually own a place and you have free reign to do whatever you want with it, décor wise. I’ve definitely spent months and months leading up to the completion scrolling through Pinterest and home décor blogs finding inspiration for how I would like my home to look like and ended up with a palette of white, grey, pastels and copper (the perfect blogger colours, of course, haa).
Then the fun part came along – going home/interior shopping, be it in store or online, it’s honestly one of my favourite things to do these days. I could spend hours browsing through aisles or pages and picking out the items that suit the house. I think I have accumulated enough cushions to build a small den in the living room, I am literally obsessed. My best ones are the steel grey Happy + Co cushion, the pink velvet Primark gem and the trusty gold dotted babe from Asda.
As the living room is already carpeted, I umm’ed and ahh’ed on whether to get a rug, but in the end decided to go for one anyways just to add a bit of character. I went for this cute La Redoute Dario Rug and it’s the perfect addition to the room. On to the coffee table, oh, the lovely Gold Luxe Marble Table – this was actually a gift from friends and it is the most beautiful thing ever! It’s from Oliver Bonas and unless you’ve been living under a rock for a while, Oliver Bonas stocks the most amazing furniture and if you’re a marble fan like me, you will love everything they have.I didn’t want to go too overboard with the copper details, instead opting for signature pieces such as the clock, floor lamp and wired bin.
Overall, I am absolutely loving my little home right now, the kitchen and bathroom will be next to be worked on and I can’t wait to see what it will look like. If you have any recommendations on where to get cute kitchen and bathroom bits, please help a girl out, I am all ears.
