My Blogging Office

Finally, I am able to get my little blogging office up and ready to show you. It’s not fully complete yet, but I am happy with how it looks so far, so I thought I’d give you all a sneak peek in to how it all looks.

how to style an office

To fit with the whole light and bright theme of each room, I went for the white Linnmon desk from Ikea which cost a mere £25 and was the easiest thing to put together. Next to the desk, my Ikea Alex draws nicely fitted in the gap. I previously used this to house all my beauty products, but I’ve since bought a set of Ikea Malm draws for all my products, so it became vacant for another room. All my paperwork and tech accessories such as chargers, mics, and spare batteries needed somewhere safe to go, so there’s definitely enough draws for all of those with the Alex. My desk chair was from eBay which fits in with the theme perfectly, I proceeded to add in a cushion from Matalan which I absolutely love! It’s so fluffy and makes the perfect prop for pictures too. The cream and gold foil design throw was from Primark and was absolute bargain. I honestly think Primark do THE best throws and they’re so affordable.

On to the details on the desk now, there’s a bit of a mixture of colours here, copper, gold and pastels which I think go well together. I first saw the Kitty & Min Gold Letter Rack on Claudia from Beauty and The Chic’s blog and knew instantly that it was what I wanted for my office, not to put letters in, but to neatly place my notebooks and notepads. My copper desk lamp was from Homebase, the mini clock (super cute) was from Asda and the paperclip pot, from Wilko. Wilko, has some amazing stationary bits in there, so if you’re looking to get some new items, I highly recommend checking them out. I added a couple of framed prints to the desk, a little motivation for every day which I love. The ‘Remember Why You Started’ frame was from Kikki K and I got it a few years back in Hong Kong. They may not have the same one in stock now, but I’m sure they have some similar. The print inside the brown frame is actually a postcard and I picked up a number of these from a little shop in Folkstone, all with lovely, inspirational quotes on them. The desk tidy which stores all the press releases I get from brands/PR’s is from Kate Spade, I love it, a lot and it fits so much.

Lastly, looking up, my favourite part of the office area is my copper grid. I actually got this from Urban Outfitters and yes, I know that there are many tutorials out there on how to make it yourself, but I’m absolutely crap at things like that, so I just opted to pay for one. It was easy to put up and comes with clips to attach pictures/notices/letters/whatever you want on it. I have added a few cute cards to it and also ran a set of fairy lights through which look super pretty when it’s on.

Overall, I am so happy with my blogging office space. It makes me so much more productive and definitely much better for my back than sitting on the bed or on the sofa trying to blog and edit. What do you think of my little blogging alcove?

Your office is super pretty & organised. I like the copper touches and the fairy lights – you can never have too many fairy lights. I have a metal grid too but mine is black, I keep meaning to spray paint it white & copper. That is a DIY job for next weekend
