I love a good manicure, who doesn’t? As much as I enjoy heading off to the salon and getting them professionally done, it does cost and girl ain’t exactly got free flowing funds for weekly mani’s, therefore DIY treats are the way forward. There are so many options these days to easily give yourself the most luxurious manicures at home and I love nothing more that whipping out my basket of products, putting something on the TV, pouring myself a glass of wine and giving my nails a good old treat.
I’ve been using Nails Inc quite a lot lately, and I am absolutely loving the new Caffeine Hit range – the colours in the collection are perfect autumnal shades and go with absolutely everything. Without further ado, here’s my at-home, step-by-step manicure routine…..
Using the Express Nail Polish Remover Pot, I get rid of all the old nail polish still attached to my nails and then I soak them for 2 minutes in some soapy water.
I am absolutely loving the Caffiene Hit Coffee Scrub at the moment, so I will take some in the palms of my hand and slowly exfoliate away the dead skins cells.
To tidy my cuticles and shape my nails, I use the SOS Pen to push back my cuticles and file my nails in to square-oval shape which is my favourite. At this point, I will apply some Superfood Repair Oil to my cuticles and gently massage it in. This oil keeps my cuticles soft and since using it, it has massively improved the condition of my nails by pushing moisture in so they don’t split easily.
I then apply a nice layer of Thirsty Hands Hand Cream – this hand cream absorbs quickly, keeps my skin soft and smooth and smells incredible.
Using the SOS Pen again, I remove any excess moisture from my nails as nail polish doesn’t stick to nails when it’s oily.
Now, it’s time for painting – a base coat is a must to avoid staining the nails, so I use the Back To Life Recovery Treatment and Base Coat to line my nails. This is such a fab product because it’s actually 2-in-1, so not only does it give my nails a smooth base, it also hydrates and repairs the nails especially because I use to have acrylics and this has nursed my nails back to life.
Adding on two coats of my current go-to nail shade which is Afternoon Mocha from the Caffeine Hit range. There are so many collections, another favourite of mine is Easy Chromes, I just love all the metallic shades.
I then go over my nails with a coat of Lacquer Lock for a super shiny and gel-like finish. With this top coat, my colour lasts for days which I absolutely adore, who wouldn’t want a long-lasting manicure right? If like me, you like that glossy finish to your nails, then this top coat will be your best friend.
Voila, that’s my full manicure routine, super easy and quick. Have you used Nails Inc products before? If yes, what’s your favourite products?
