I see being creative as an outlet to be free to express myself, physically and mentally – how would you define it? In my mind, being creative is a helpful way to feel relaxed, to enjoy doing something you like and to meet new people. There is creativity amongst everyone and it can be expressed in so many different ways – I have picked three creative outlets that I personally use myself and think that anyone could take it on board and benefit from it. Here they are…..
Start a blog
Well well well, how can I not have this as a starting point, my blog has been the most creative thing that has come out of me and I am so proud of how it has turned out. Every day, I am grateful for all the opportunities it has brought me, all the people who I have met through it who I can now call friends and the enormous amount of confidence it has given me. Having this blog has allowed me to be free with my writing, to express my thoughts and to be creative with its entire content and it is thanks to this bout of creativity that has kept me writing to this day, five years on. So I would encourage anyone and everyone to start one because it’s the perfect way to express yourself creatively.
Photography comes hand in hand with my blog, but of course, you don’t have to have a blog to explore photography, it can be done at any time, as and when you feel. Photos are definitely more of a personal thing and with experience, you will know what you like to see in a photo yourself therefore actively searching for it and exploring the best way to use photography creatively. The best thing about photography is that it makes awesome memories and you can share these memories with people around you.
Have a visual diary board
A good alternative to a traditional diary, building a visual diary is something that can be used to express yourself creatively. A bit like a Pinterest board, but instead of doing it on the app, why not find pictures in magazines or use your own inspiring images. Print out some text and create your own motivational quotes section. Add places that you’ve travelled to and places that are on your bucket list and use that as a goal to work towards. Visual diaries are powerful tools and uses self-creativity to the max. Try it – you won’t be disappointed.
