Adventure Travel For All Budgets

travelling on a budget

If you’re someone who loves to travel, you may find yourself often dealing with feelings of wanderlust and wanting to head out and explore the world. The problem is, travelling is something that costs money, and also requires a bit of time, so if your current lifestyle and commitments such as job and finances aren’t really allowing you to take the kinds of trips you want, then we’re going to share with you in this post just how you can enjoy adventure travel even if you’re on a limited time and money budget.

Explore your local area

We can often get so caught up in the idea that travelling means we have to be flying to the other side of the world, and although that’s definitely amazing, we should also remember that we probably have some pretty great things to explore right on our own doorstep that don’t require us to get on planes, but that can still satisfy our sense of adventure and give us that feeling of freedom that we truly crave.

Oftentimes we take our own surroundings so much for granted that we don’t even realise what actually exists and if we just opened our eyes and even wandered for a mile or two, we could be in a place that we didn’t even know was there and would completely change our impression of our home town or cities.

Go on a backpacking adventure

The great thing about backpacking is that it appeals to those on a budget, and it’s something you don’t even need to travel far to enjoy. You could take out a map of your own country and look for some cool places that other backpackers tend to frequent, so you can get a good idea of the types of places you can see, where you can find cheaper accommodation, and the best ways to get there.

Take a road trip

If you do want to travel a bit further afield, but you’re not able to budget for a long-haul flight, then taking a road trip is the ultimate way to feed that adventure travel spirit and is really the ultimate feeling of freedom. The great thing about road tripping apart from the fact that it’s very cheap is that you can see lots of places in one trip and can even make stops in different cities, so you could make an overnight stop and look for a hotel near downtown Minneapolis for one night and then continue on your road trip after getting some rest.

Shop around for deals:

Of course, travelling internationally or long haul doesn’t mean that you have to constantly spend lots of money - you can actually find some great deals that are cheaper when you travel to the other side of the world than you’d pay by staying in your own city, but this is going to take some searching, some luck, and also being strategic with things like the time of year you travel, etc, so if you’re willing to shop around for deals on travel, then you can certainly find some amazing ones.
