Glossy Box Review (October) #8

October’s Glossy box brings us DIY Beauty as this month’s theme. To help us brave the gloomy weather thats slowly approaching, the team have carefully selected a set of indulgent products for the perfect home spa experience.

My box contained:

Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser

The Organic Pharmacy Enzyme Peel Mask with Vitamin C & Papaya

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (Shade: Black Platinum)

Skinetica Anti Blemish Solution

Anatomicals “Don’t just clean it woman, scrub it” Body Scrub

Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser

Review – This is my favourite product from this month’s box. It aims to immediately smooth wrinkles and provide lasting moisture all day. I don’t have any lines at this moment in time so couldn’t really tell if it worked in that respect, but it definitely provided enough moisture for my skin. The texture of the cream is gel like and the scent was very fresh and light. I was also quite happy to receive a full 30ml size of this cream.

The Organic Pharmacy Enzyme Peel Mask with Vitamin C & Papaya

Review – The scent of this product reminds me of the Elemis Fruit Active Mask, although it contains different fruit ingredients and is more of a gel consistency rather than clay. I applied this after cleansing and left it on for the instructed ten minutes. When removed, my skin looked much brighter, but I wouldn’t say it “transformed” my complexion as such. Having said that, it did soften my skin to a good level and my moisturiser glided on well after.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (Shade: Black Platinum)

Review – I liked the colour of this polish when I took it out of the box, it looked like the perfect shimmery black shade for autumn. However, when I tried it, I realised that I didn’t like this polish at all. It had a watery consistency and was very patchy even after 3 coats! It also chipped after the first day and left my nails quite yellow. I would of expected a bit better from Sally Hansen, so I was pretty disappointed with this one.

Skinetica Anti Blemish Solution

Review – This product made me break out more on my chin area, but I’m not sure whether it just brought out the spots (that were eventually going to appear anyways) or it didn’t agree with my skin. It was very easy to use, just like a toner for affected areas and smelt pleasant. I will need to give this a bit more time to see if it really works.

Anatomicals “Don’t just clean it woman, scrub it” Body Scrub

Review – This body scrub was okay, it was of a gel like consistency with exfoliating grains in it. There are no negatives of this product, it worked and did the job, but that’s it. I do like the packaging though and it’s a good size to take on holiday with you.

A pretty average box for me this month. Nothing really wowed me. What do you think of this month’s box? Let me know.

With Love, Julie
