When I attended the MyCelebrityFashion relaunch party a couple of months ago, I was very kindly given a £55 skin treatment voucher to use at Skin Health Spa. Not wasting any time, I immediately started to browse the website to decide which treatment I wanted. As most of them were extremely expensive I thought the best option for me was to ring up the spa and ask them what they can offer for £55. The lady on the phone was really helpful and definitely knew what she was talking about in terms of helping me decide on an option. After a lengthy chat, my appointment was made and I was eagerly waiting for the day to come…

As I entered the spa on the day of my facial, I was greeted by two lovely ladies at reception, one of them being the one who had made my booking. I was led downstairs and handed a consultation form to fill out. Having come from a beauty background, I know that these forms are very important when having any type of skin treatment as the therapist needs to know whether anything may hinder the process and if they need to take special care in certain areas.
Natalia was my therapist for the evening and after analysing my skin, she decided to perform the Microdermabrasion (*) treatment on me. Microdermabrasion is using fine crystals through a suction machine to exfoliate the skin. It helps to remove dead skin cells and rejuvenates the skin creating a nice glowing, complexion. Natalia also treated me to a nice soothing mask after the exfoliation (no pain at all) and extraction (so painful!!).
Forty minutes later, with only slight redness on my skin, I was done. I told Natalia that I needed to put my make up back on as I was off to an event and she kindly asked me if I could use the mineral make up that the salon sold as all her hard work would be ruined otherwise. Of course I agreed. The mineral make up is amazing by the way, I didn’t note down what brand it was, so I must go back and find out.
Overall, my experience was great, friendly staff and a fabulous treatment. The only small thing I wasn’t too keen on was the size of the room, it was rather small and also the lighting, which was a tad too bright. In my opinion, it could of been dimmed a little, as the therapist has already got a lamp to help her see.
Have you ever had a skin treatment before? What is a must for you during the treatment?
