Mac’s Archie’s Girls collection launched in the UK around February this year, but due to my work secondment, I was unable to get hold on any of the stock before I left. So the first thing I did when I arrived in Hong Kong was check out the nearest Mac counter. But sadly, they weren’t due to receive the collection till March which explains why this and a few other Archie’s Girls products that I bought will have late reviews.
The collection is based on a comic book series dating back to the 40’s. Frenemies Betty and Veronica are your usual high school girls who hang out, shop and most importantly fight for Archie’s (a small town, well mannered teen) affections. Over time, they developed a love triangle which became a staple of the comic series. Betty is blonde and has a sweet, girl next door personality, whereas Veronica is a spoiled, rich brunette.
Betty Bright is described as a “light, vibrant peach” with a satin finish. For me and especially my skin tone, I would say it’s more of a coral pink. The cream formula allows the colour to transfer on to my lips really well and leaves a nice, natural finish. It lasted for about 4 hours before slightly wearing off. I really like this shade as its different to anything I already own in terms of a peach lipstick and the packaging is super cute, I am a bit of a sucker for limited edition collections.
