Hope and Freedom collection
Summer is my favourite time of the year, there is no doubt about that and one of the main reasons why I like it so much is because of the summery nail polish ranges that every brand launches during the season. Step in Orly S/S 2013, the Hope and Freedom collection being my current favourite. Containing six shades, two giltters, two shimmers and two cremes, the range screams “Sun, here I come!”.
Another collection that I particularly loved was Mash Up and the neon shades were the ones that stood out for me. They even come in a set of mini’s which is perfect for taking away on holiday.
On to the Gel FX range, now, I’m not new to gel nails, in fact, I have my own UV lamp and a few gel colours myself. But, I don’t use it that often as I do get bored of having the same colour for more than three days, so I like the flexibility of being able to change it frequently. I use gel shades mainly for when I’m going away especially on beach holidays as obviously, they’ll last. The Gel FX collection contains a range of brights and shimmers and for me, the coral red named Hot Shot is “The One” for me.
Gel FX Shade Shifter is the one to watch. This polish is not called “Color Changing” for nothing, it really does change colour and this is all down to the temperature of your hands. It is of a clear gel consistency and all you have to do is apply a couple of coats over your normal gel colour and when your hands are cold, your nails will turn in to a lovely, dark black shade. And when your hands are warm again, the black shade will disappear. I could have so much fun just watching the colours change! Sadly, Shade Shifter is only available in salons, so looks like I’ll be looking for the nearest one as soon as possible.
