ORLY Nails – SS13 Hope and Freedom Collection Review

Orly Hope and Freedom SS13 collection is inspired by the boho festival season aiming to transform your nails in to dreamy hues which is very much different to your usual summer pastel shades. Featuring six tones, the collection ranges from creme, to shimmer to glitter finishes and comes packaged in lovely branded bottles with easy grip caps.

Coachella Dweller (*) is a pale, pastel green creme varnish. I love the name of this polish and love the shade even more. Despite being quite streaky on the first coat, the second coat pulled it all together and the end result was a sheer, yet light apple green finish.

Melodious Utopia (*) is a light shimmer polish in a sunny yellow shade. Despite looking great in the bottle, this was actually my least favourite from the range. The texture was rather watery and it appeared quite streaky after the second coat. I would suggest an extra coat if you want more of an opaque finish.

Boho Bonnet (*) is a muted, soft blue/grey creme polish. I am a big fan of light blue nail varnishes and this one is just the perfect shade for this season. It was easy to apply and had a great consistency.

Peaceful Opposition (*) is a soft milky white filled with square glitter particles. I do love myself a good glitter polish and this one is right up my street. It is thick in consistency, but easy to apply. This would also look beautiful on it’s own or over a few of the shades in the range, definitely a keeper for me.

Elation Generation (*) is a red, pink polish with a glitter finish. This actually looked much better on than it did in the bottle. The silver sparkles adds a bit of excitement to the base giving it a beautiful, glossy finish. Although a little thick on the texture side, this was an absolute stunner and really stood out from the crowd.

High on Hope (*) is a deep navy blue polish with a shimmer finish. Containing a slight hint of pink, this colour is just so, so gorgeous. It really lifted my skin tone and transferred well on to the nail plate. Again,  lovely consistency during application and definitely a great addition to the range.

Overall, I really liked this collection, it was nice to have a variety of pastel, brights and a dark for a summer range. My top picks are Boho Bonnet, High on Hope and Coachella Dweller. Which one was your favourite shade?
