Lipstick
is no doubt a very big part of my life and whenever there is a new range out
for any brand, I’ve always been one of those girls that has to try it out
first. However, flaky and dry lips are any lipstick’s worst nightmare and is
something that I suffer from, from time to time. I always either used lip balm
as a base or an old toothbrush to remove the dead skin (weird as it sounds, but
it does work). So, one day while browsing the stands in The Body Shop,
I came across this lip scrub and after being persuaded by the shop assistant
that this would help moisturise my lips and create a base for lipstick, I
decided to give it go.
After
a good few applications, this product to be honest didn’t particularly wow me.
The exfoliating granules weren’t very strong at all and even though I could see
the dead skin surfacing on my lips, after removing the residue with tissue,
there was still dry skin on the sides. The packaging is sleek and handy and the
stick smells and tastes like peppermint, which actually is quite nice and not
too overpowering. The only thing that noticeably worked for me was the
conditioning part and my lips did feel soft and moisturised after. But, sadly,
the main purpose of the product was a bit of a let down and I won’t be
repurchasing when this one runs out.
Have
you tried The Body Shop lip scuff before? How do you remove
dry skin from your lips?
I removing dry skin off my lips by using an old toothbrush and "brushing" my lips in small, soft circles.

Thank you for the tip, I must try that out. xx
I use a toothbrush to do that too! Have you tried one of the Lush lip scrubs before? I've heard good things about them & thinking of picking one up myself soon! xo

I have heard so much about Lush scrubs, but never tried them, I really need to. xx
I get terribly chapped lips too, I find that Lush lip scrubs followed by Blistex Relief Cream work fantastically 🙂 x
Nice! Definitely going to check those out. xx
I was think of buying this but I'm glad that I didn't now.
Such a shame that it doesn't do much in removing dry skin.
I normally use Lush Lip Scrub which works nicely.

I know, I was rather disappointed. xx
Such a shame it didn't perform as expected 🙁 i suffer with really dry lips too and am always looking for products to help!! x
I know. 🙁 Looks like Lush lip scrubs are the way to go. xx
I quite like this and have gone through a couple of tubes of it in the past. It isn't the greatest exfoliator though. x
Yeah, it just didn't quite cut it for me. xx
That's such a shame! I'm desperate to pick up some more Body Shop products, especially their make up because it looks so good. But on my budget, I need to be careful aha. I think I'll stay away from this product, it's usually the corners of my mouth which dry out most and it doesn't sound like it'll be much help. 🙁
