La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Melt-in Face Cream SPF50 £14.50 – I never leave the house without using an SPF on my face. Whether it’s in my daily moisturiser or my foundation, I wear it religiously all year round. During the hotter months, I tend to go higher with the sun protection factor and this La Roche Posay one is what I used last summer and because I loved it so much, I repurchased again this year. The melt in formula makes it extremely easy to apply and sinks straight in to the skin without leaving it feeling heavy or sticky. It is also water resistant therefore great for using while your sunning yourself at the pool or beach.
Boots Soltan Moisturising Suncare Lotion (with insect repellent) SPF30 £8.99 (*) – Because of my skin tone, I don’t tend to burn as much, so I rarely go higher than SPF30 when it comes to protecting my body. This sun lotion is perfect for intense sunlight as it provides adequate protection without making the skin feel uncomfortable. It smells pleasant and absorbs very quickly. The main thing that I do like about it, is it also contains insect repellant. Rather than buying separate products, you can now have two in one, voila!
Caudalie Grape Water Spray £6.00 (*) – Dehydrated skin is the bane of my life! And especially during the summer months when the sun is beaming, my skin is often more thirsty than ever. Water sprays are a great source of hydration when your skin is in need of some fluids and this spray from Caudalie is the best thing since sliced bread! I use this four to five times a day either for moisture or for fixing my make up.
Boots Soltan After Sun Soothing Gel £4.99 (*) – Aloe Vera is a very popular ingredient in after sun suncare. It is has long been praised for it’s cooling and soothing properties, not to mention it’s moisturising capabilities. After a day in the sun, I always ensure my skin has adequate time to cool down and to help it, I use this after sun gel from the Boots Soltan range. It has a non-greasy, non pore blocking formula and instantly soothes my skin.
Percy & Reed Dry Shampoo (*) – Dry shampoo is no doubt one of my favourite beauty products ever! Regardless of the occasion, I always carry a can with me. So while I’m out in the sun, either in the park or on the beach, I need to ensure my hair is clean and has volume in it. I was using Batiste Dry Shampoo up until I came across this Percy & Reed one at their salon launch a while ago. Not only does it smell great, it leaves my hair feeling refreshed and is a saviour for greasy roots.
So there it is, my top five summer beauty essentials. Have you tried any of the above products? What are your beauty essentials for summer?
