Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL HD Intense Colour Hair Dye Review – Cherry Mahogany

Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL HD Intense Colour Hair Dye in Cherry Mahogany £5.49 (*)

It is pretty much safe to say that I don’t ever not have coloured hair. I get bored easily with my hair colour and I’m always changing it at least every other month. I recently had a purple under layer with a jet black top and as much as I loved it, it was really high maintenance due to how quickly it fades. So without further hesitation, I decided a darker shade will be my next choice.

This all came in right time as I attended the Schwarzkopf Live Lab event a few weeks ago. The famous hair colour brand has recreated it’s at home hair colour range and set to launch Live Color XXL HD with new packaging. The permanent hair colourant range aims to give you high definition and intense colour using it’s HD vibrant pigment technology. The end result is long lasting colour that shines and is fade resistance.

Out of the five new shades set to hit the shelves in August, I opted for Cherry Mahogany. Because of my natural dark base, I knew it wasn’t going to be as bright as it looks on the box which I didn’t mind anyways as I kind of, only wanted a hint of red running through my hair. The dye itself was super easy to mix and applying to my roots and then through my ends was a breeze using the nozzle bottle. The end result? As you can see from the picture above, my hair has a slight hint of red and what looks like brighter red highlights running through. This is because I had lighter ends previously which has just taken to the dye quite easily. The colour itself is fresh and it makes my hair look shiny and healthy. I really like my hair colour now and it looks set to stay for while, my mum would be happy! The only small thing that I didn’t like about the set, is the gloves. They’re not made of the best plastic as mine ripped half way through leaving me with red palms that lasted days. Not really a good look, but other than that, I’d happily recommend trying this out.

The other four shades include: Atomic Blonde, Urban Brown, Pure Purple and Scandalous Scarlet. All colours will be available at Boots, Superdrug and leading supermarkets from August onwards.

Do you do ‘at home colouring’ or prefer going to a salon?
