Baker Days recently contacted me asking whether I’d be interested in reviewing one of their Letterbox cakes. Being an avid cake fan, can you tell by my blog name? Haaa! I had no option but to of course say yes! Who on earth would ever, like ever, refuse cake? Baker Days was founded by Andrea Guzyova and greeting card entrepreneur Alan Hawkes who both have a passion for cakes (mainly eating them, just like me!) and decided to offer a service where customers can design their own cake and receive it in the post the next day. All their cakes are handmade using the freshest ingredients and will arrive exactly how you wanted it.
Setting me free on to the cute, vintage inspired website, I was allowed to pick my own personalised sweet treat. It didn’t take me long to come a conclusion on what I wanted. I am always amused by the ‘Keep Calm‘ products, so I opted for one in my favourite girly colour, pink. Arriving safely through my letterbox packed in a cute little tin with a card and some balloons, I was ready to tuck in straight away. The icing was still soft, the cake (chocolate) was super moist and tasty, not too sweet, with just enough flavour. I would love to try more cakes, especially the classic sponge recipe, so I’m definitely going to order another one soon. If you’re often stuck for gift ideas, why not give Baker Days a go? You won’t be disappointed.
