2013, where do I start? It’s been a pretty awesome year to say the least and instead of posting a massive chunk of text on here, I will break it down in to categories to make for better reading. So to start off with, let’s talk about my favourite moment of 2013…..
Hong Kong – In February of this year, I embarked on my first trip alone to Hong Kong for work. I wrote a post on my time there which you can read about here. It was an amazing experience and I honestly had the best time of my life, despite how nervous I was at the beginning. All I was thinking about was being in a different country, so far away from my family and not knowing anyone. But, I met the best group of people and everything went so swimmingly well, I didn’t want to leave. However, that time was definitely going to come by and I left knowing that I made a difference, met some great friends and had some awesome memories to take home with me.
Travels – This year, I was lucky enough to go on two holidays, the first one was to Murcia in Spain and the most recent one, to Thailand, Bali and Singapore. Both holidays were equally as good, for different reasons. Travelling with family and friends was always going to be a fun one and although, the place we went to wasn’t going to be somewhere we’ll visit again in a hurry, the time we had won’t be forgotten very quickly. Singapore was a place I visited loads before, so it came at the right time when my cousin announced that he was going to get married and invited Dan and I to the wedding. So as soon as we got the dates, we decided to make a trip out of it by going to two other places too and promptly decided on Thailand and Bali. We absolutely loved every single minute of being in each country, learning about the culture, roaming with the people and trying out all the different foods, it was real eye opener. We are looking at possibly doing a States trip next year, but it all depends on the funds. I’d say, watch this space!
Family and Friends – My family and friends mean the world to me and I am lucky to have such crazy family members (love them really), as well as a great bunch of mates. In the summer of 2013, my sister announced that she was pregnant and I am absolutely thrilled for her, being an Aunty for the fourth time round doesn’t make me “feel old“, not at all. Apart from the new friends I made while in Hong Kong, I still have my usual set of close friends, one group in particular whom are appropriately named “The B***hes“, you know who you are and if you’re reading this, thank you for being the most amazing friends.
Love – Dan and I are approaching our three year anniversary soon and we have discussed going away for it which would be lovely. Dan is one of the most genuine, caring and a loving person I have ever met and I am lucky to have him in my life. He just understands me and being with him just feels so comfortable and right. I’m not going to go on, otherwise I’ll probably have to pass you the sick bucket, but you get the drift, he’s my bestest friend.

Work – Good and bad is probably the best two words to describe my current situation at work. I can’t go in to too much detail about it all, so I did consider taking out this point in the round up, but thought it’ll only be a short one and I guess, some of you’s may be interested. Put it this way, I am looking for a new direction in my career and I am unsure whether my current place of work can fulfil that. Here’s to 2014 for a new goal, find a new job that is equally as rewarding and satisfying.
My Blog – 2013 was the best year for my blog and for many, many reasons. The people I have met, the opportunities I have had and the experiences since starting my blog. I have lost count of the amount of great events and press days I have attended and I am extremely grateful to have been given the chance to be part of it. Being at the forefront of the fashion and beauty industry via my blog has been really overwhelming and I am truly thankful to everyone who has helped me. It’s definitely not all about the events of course, I feel that my blog content has improved a lot and I have found a writing style that I am happy with. I also started my YouTube channel this year and the support so far has been amazing. 2014 will be the year I focus more on my channel and I hope you’ll all be there with me till the end.
The Future – Who knows? You make it right? Life is too short to wait. Take every opportunity that comes along and embrace change, you’ll never know.
Stay tuned for my New Year’s resolutions in tomorrow’s post! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
