how to control pily skin with powder

good powder for oily skin

MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder £20.00

Oily skin can sometimes be a pain in the backside, I appreciate the moisturising properties it has and I’m grateful for it, but no-one likes looking greasy all the time. This is where powder comes in to play and with oily skin like mine, I need one that can hold it in and last all day with very few touch ups. I confessed my love for the Urban Decay Naked Skin Powder the other day and this MAC one is another gem in my make up collection. Using a big powder brush, I apply this directly from the pot, taking small dabs at a time and gently brushing it over. It goes on transparent despite being a white powder and instantly mattes out my skin. This is also a great powder to set make up and minimise the look of pores, I found that it completely blurred the large pores I have round my nose area and smoothed it out completely. Because I don’t actually need a lot of product to cover my face, I found that one pot lasted me over two months which I thought was pretty good and I used it everyday. I am now on my second pot and cannot recommend it enough, it also comes in pressed form if you prefer to apply your powder with a sponge. Overall, this is a nice little powder, in a handy sized pot that will ensure you have grease-free skin.

Have you tried anything from MAC‘s Prep + Prime range?

I'm completely the same with my oily skin. Can't leave the house without a good powder! I haven't used any Mac powders for a while, they're always a good, safe option. Thanks for reminding me to give them a go next time my powder runs out 🙂 x

I love the sound of this! I'm a little bit obsessed with my Vichy Normaderm setting powder at the moment, but when that runs out I'll have to give this a try.
