Anything with volumising or texturising on a hair product or tool, I literally need to have it! My hair has always been very fine and only since last year have I started to look in to volumising products (I know, you must be wondering where I have been all this time!). I started using the first one (Trevor Sorbie Powder), around October, last year and was totally amazed at the effect it gave and over the past seven months, I have tried many more. So today, I am very excited to share this little round up post of my top five favourite hair volumising/texturising products.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray £39.00 – Thought I’d start off with the most expensive one, the queen of all texturising sprays is what I named this. I know the price is very off-putting, but this really is one of the best I’ve tried. You don’t need a lot of it to create good texture, just a few bursts of the product can get you enough hold and volume that lasts all day. The scent is also incredible, so fresh and alluring.
Bumble & Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish £21.50 (*) – Having been a fan of the Thickening range for a while, there was no doubt that once I tried this, I was going to fall in love and I literally did, head over heels in fact. On it’s own, it’s creates mass volume on my roots, but when it’s used with the mousse and creme from the same range, it really takes it to the next level.
Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce Texturising Spray £6.99 – For those on a budget, this is the best dupe for the Oribe spray. It is easy to use and instantly lifts the roots to create mega volume. The hold is also very long-lasting and the scent is slightly more floral compared to the Oribe spray.
Trevor Sorbie Volume Big Hair Powder £6.29 (*) – You may think that putting powder on your hair is going to be quite fiddly, but actually it is one of the easiest products to use. All you have to do is lift up the area you want to boost up, drop a bit of powder on there and rub in, then drop the lifted part of your hair down and you will see the instant difference. Hair powders are a lot more handy for travelling and really gives great volume.
ecoTools Full Volume Styler £10.99 (*) – Featured in my recent favourites video, this is no ordinary brush. This brush gives the best volume you can ask for and more! Not only does it create a voluminous barnet, it’s also smooths out the hair ensuring a soft and shiny finish. The vents in the brush allow the hot air to flow through a lot easier and prevent tangles. This is literally one of the best hairbrushes that I’ve tried.
So that’s it, I hope you enjoy these types of series posts, some of my most recent ones include My Top Five Serums and My Top Five Red Lipsticks and they seem to be quite popular. Do let me know if you have tried any of the above products or you have one you would like to recommend, I am always up for trying something new.
