Summer Beauty: SPF Face Moisturisers

As from today, I will be posting various summer beauty features where I will be talking about all things related to summer beauty products. Subjects will range from the perfect pedicure set to the best fake tan’s on the market, so make sure you tune in and I really hope you’ll enjoy these posts. If there is anything you would like to read or see featured, then let me know in the comments or via Twitter (@rainingcakeblog)

To kick start the features, I will be talking about SPF Face Moisturisers. What you use on your face to protect you from those strong, but much needed rays should always be different to what you put on your body. The reason behind it is because the skin on your face is always more sensitive than your body, so the last thing you would want, is to irritate it. That is why SPF face moisturisers are formulated differently, with the view of still giving you that protection, but in a more gentle way.

Now that it’s holiday season, I have selected a few of my favourite ones to share with you today. A couple high end picks, for those who love luxurious products and a couple of drugstore ones for those on a budget. So here goes…

The High End

Shisedo Expert Sun Aging Protection Cream SPF30 £20.50 (*) – a lightweight and gentle cream that defends against UV rays without being too heavy on the skin. It helps prevent the sign of photo-ageing and is water and perspiration resistant. Available from Click Fragrance for a cheaper price compared to the store or other online beauty sites.

The Drugstores

La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti-Shine Dry Touch Gel SPF 50 £16.50 (*) – for those who have low tolerance to the sun and need a higher protection factor, this is the one for you. Being of gel form, it applies smoothly and banishes shine, leaving your skin matte and most importantly, protected. It absorbs instantly and needs to be reapplied every two hours to maintain effectiveness.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Face Protection Cream SPF 30 £6.13 – costing a mere £6.13, this is the perfect face moisturiser for anyone on a budget as it’s easy to use, suitable for all skin types and very effective. The cream formula is super moisturising, ensuring that your skin will remain hydrated and protected for long periods of time when exposed to the sun.

The Natural

Douvalls Daily Moisturiser with SPF 30 £14.00 (*) – having loved the Argan Oil Moisturiser from Douvalls, this is literally the icing on the cake for those who prefer SPF products with natural ingredients. Preventing against sunburn and premature ageing, this lightweight and easily absorbing creams is made with the highest quality Argan Oil to maintain hydration and provide a dewy complexion.

Have you got your summer face SPF moisturiser sorted? If not, will you be trying out any of the above?
