Face Of The Day #1

skincare for combination skin

Today, on the skincare menu, I have my all time favourite cleanser, the famous Cleanse & Polish (*) from Liz Earle. I’m then toning my skin with Instant Boost Skin Tonic, also from the same brand, I really should get a full size bottle of this stuff, it’s just so good for soothing and refreshing the skin. Next up, I have the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (*) to clarify and ease out imperfections, the condition of my skin has improved vastly after using this, so I highly recommend it. For moisturiser, I’m using the Garnier Miracle Cream (*) which adapts to my skin tone when applying and creates a lovely radiant base.

make up for oily skin

On the make up menu, I started off with The Body Shop Instablur (*) to prime my skin, then painted on the PIXI H20 Skin Tint (*). I really, really love this tinted moisturiser, it gives the most flawless and natural finish while remaining light-weight. Dusting off with a bit of Jurlique Rose Powder (*), my base is now complete.

On to the eyes, I used the new NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows in the shades Callisto and Dione (*). Currently exclusive to Space NK and, rolling out to all NARS counters in August, these eyeshadows are so pigmented and velvety, they glide on like a dream. Depending on how intense you want the colour, they can be applied dry or with a damp brush and last absolutely without a crease in sight. I always line with MAC Kohl Eye Pencil first and put liquid liner over the top, at the moment, I’m loving the Loreal Super Liner. To fill in my brows, I will have to go with Urban Decay‘s Brow Box, it is by far the best brow powder I have ever tried. My mascara of choice is the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde (*), the bristles are so gentle and coat each lash creating definition and volume.

Almost done now, just a touch of blush from NARS again, Deep Throat is one of the best shades from the range, a cute flirty peach, that’s perfect for everyday wear. On my lips, I’m wearing Maybelliene‘s Mega Watt Lipstick (*), which is a neon pink with a slight blue hues. The formula is matte and when I first swatched it on my hand, I thought it was really drying, but when I applied it properly on to my lips, it gave the most gorgeous colour and actually glided on nicely.

What do you think of the finished look?

I REALLY want to try the Body Shop primer, have you ever used Smashbox ones? I really want it to be similar to those as it's a fraction of the cost, especially when they have 40% off vouchers!

I opened my sample of the La Roche Posay today. Really hoping it does my blocked pores some favours because my face is terrible at the moment, don't get me started on the dreaded acne. Hopefully I can then buy a full-size.
