How To Maintain A Tan

Maintaining a tan is actually easier than you think, my friends always ask “How do you manage to look so tanned all the time?” Well, it’s very simple and easy to follow. Apart from the odd occasions when I use fake tan, most of the time, my tan is ‘au naturel‘. I don’t use any particular tan enhancing products, just the simple ones that you can buy in stores or online.

I start off with a good scrub (and no, you won’t be scrubbing your tan away, don’t worry) to help get rid of any dead skin, this step will actually make your tan last longer and allow your skin to regenerate. The Wild Argan Oil Scrub from The Body Shop (*) is extra gentle and gives a lovely, smooth base. Next, I will use the Dove Caring Protection Body Wash (*) that is rich in nourishing properties and will not strip your skin of it’s natural moisture like some body washes actually do. After gently drying off, I will slather on the He-Shi Souffle Moisturiser (*) to lock in moisture and keep my skin glowing. And that is pretty much it, I don’t use the scrub every day, just once a week, but I do use the body wash and souffle moisturiser religiously.

Do you have a special routine that you follow in maintaining a tan? I’d love to hear your tips.

I absolutely love the sound of that argan oil scrub, the whole range seems really lovely. I'm not looking forward to my summer tan fading 🙁

Most Filipinas are born tan and love being tan or Morena as we call it but some girls do what ever it takes to have lighter skin you rarely see tanning product here in the Philippines. I just need to spend a few hours in the beach or under the sun and I will get 3 shades darker no joke 🙂

When I visit Asia, I see so many whitening products in the shops. I'm jealous of your easily tanned skin. xx 🙂
