So I’ve gone and had the chop, it’s not overly dramatic, but quite a difference for me since I’ve been growing it for such a long time. I must admit though, I had been contemplating shorter hair for a while and finally took the plunge and I LOVE IT!

After hearing and reading all the great reviews about the Michael Van Clarke salon, I paid them a visit last Thursday. Greeted by my stylist, Tassilia, a naturally curly haired babe who urged me to embraced my naturally wavy ends and put down those straighteners that I use every day after seeing the damage that it has been done to my ends. We had five to ten minute chat about what style I’d like to go for and after a a couple of sample pictures later, I was whisked off to have my hair washed by Tassilia‘s assistant.

Sitting in the massage chair allowed me to drift off in to relax land, I also had a treatment to condition my hair and the most soothing head massage ever. Half asleep and bleary-eyed, I was led back to my chair and spotted Rosie from The Londoner having her hair blow dried, needless to say, I fan-girled a little.

I booked in for a Diamond Dry Cut which is exclusive to the salon and Michael‘s most famous hair cut. Cutting the hair dry allows the stylist to work with the natural movements and texture of the hair to create the perfect cut to suit the individual’s face shape and features. After about thirty minutes in total with minimal touch ups of little trimmings, my new hair style was revealed and I couldn’t of been more happier. The cut has transformed my whole look and gave me complete new boost of confidence, funny how something as simple as a haircut can make you look and feel so much more different.

I cannot thank Michael enough for letting me try out this signature treatment of his, my stylist Tassilia for the hard work and the rest of the team for being so accommodating.
