Quick Manicure Essentials

the body shop colour crush nail polish

I’m one of those girls that can never not have their nails painted. Fact is, I don’t like the look of them when they don’t have colour and having painted nails always makes me feel made up, even if I don’t wear make up and look scruffy in terms of dressing, painted nails always saves the day. I have a few quick manicure essentials that I’d like to share today and do let me know what yours are too.

Cuticle Sticks – I’m lucky enough to not need a lot of cuticle work, therefore the Boots Wooden Manicure Sticks serve me very well. I wrap cotton wool round the tip and gently push back my cuticles and neatening them as I go.

Hand Moisturiser – A manicure is not complete without a good hand massage and the Beegood Daily Hand Cream (*) is my current favourite. It leaves my skin super soft and smells amazing!

Nail Polish Remover – I like to use nail polish remover to get rid of any oily residue left on the nails especially after using any oil based products. When it’s nail painting day, my routine is, remove polish, bath, bodycare then skincare, so my nails will have oil on them. Using remover completely eliminates oil and gives you a nice, clean base to work on. The Body’s Shop Nail Varnish Remover (*) is acetone-free, gentle on the skin and softens my cuticles, so it’s ready for the next step.

Nail Painting – The last step is my favourite, painting! I own gazillions of nail polishes, they’re the one thing that I would buy over and over again even if I have about ten of the same shade. The Body Shop recently launched their new Colour Crush range and today, I am wearing the shade, Crazy For Blue (*). At £5 a pop, they’re extremely affordable and apply really nicely.

I love that shade of electric, yet deep blue. So pretty and lovely for this time of year. Doing my nails is one of my favourite things to do – so relaxing and it makes such a difference to how I feel!

I love that blue shade, I love a dark blue nail as it's my favourite colour! I've never tried Body Shop remover, but I do try to choose ones which are acetone free – so much better for your nails!
