Relaxing is one of those things that rarely crosses my mind, I have and always will be one of those people who can’t switch off at any time. But when I do find that moment, I like to use it wisely and to my advantage. Now, everyone has their own ways of relaxing, be it, reading a book, watching television, writing a diary etc. What I’m sharing today is purely my personal way of relaxing based on being a constant ‘go, go, go’ person.
Take your time and don’t rush
There is no use being rushed, being rushed means I forget things and forgetting things is never a good sign. I use to constantly get annoyed at myself because I am so forgetful. I could think of something and literally, two minutes later, it’s gone! Taking the time to give myself some space to think automatically relaxes me and makes me feel that I can achieve throughout the day without the pressure of being rushed in to make decisions.
Don’t be afraid to say no
If you don’t want to do something or go somewhere, don’t be afraid to say no. When I’m constantly on the go, I feel an extreme amount of pressure to say yes to everything because I’m afraid that I’ll miss out. Yes, there has been times that I have missed out on something good, but at that moment, when the ‘no’ word was said, it was exactly what I wanted and I don’t dwell on it just because I’ve said no that day. More opportunities will come along that I will say yes to and will bring me the rewards in different ways.
Treat yourself to ‘you’ time
The best therapy for relaxation has to be when I’m treating myself. A new pair of shoes, a new make up product or spa trip for one, anything that involves pampering myself is my favourite relaxation activity. Shopping is also best done on my own, no stresses of waiting for the other person, no comments made if you choose to spend hours in one shop and most importantly, the time is mine and it’s all for me and me only.
I hope you found this useful and enjoyed reading about how I like to relax. Let me know what you think and whether you have any tips for me as I’d love to hear about it.
