how to create a workspace

Having wanted a workspace for what seems like eternity, I have finally managed to get my act together and create my own little corner in my room, where I can plan my work. As highlighted in this post a while back, I moved the sewing machine out of the room, cleaned up a small little area and cooed in Ikea over pretty desks and stationary. But, because my room is on the small side, I settled for the Micke desk which at a mere £39, I couldn’t complain. I then went on to choose a comfy chair with a good back support and ending up choosing the Torbjorn Swivel chair which can be adjusted to suit my height.

Now on to desk side decorations which was my favourite part. As the desk is on the small side, I had to be selective with what I chose. I wanted to have the essentials as well as some decorative pieces, so opted for a Cream and Gold Desk Clock (*) from Pia Jewellery and a Prism Photo Frame (*), also from the same brand. Other items on my desk include a Skurar Plant Pot for my pens, some fake flowers from TK Maxx, some beauty products and a document filer that holds my note books and various other bits.

Despite the area being pretty small, I am super happy with how it turned out. Every day, I am excited to sit at my desk and plan all my creative work and now I have a long list of blog and video ideas which I can’t wait to start creating. I hope you enjoyed this post, do let me know if you plan on creating a workspace for yourself or already have one, so I can have a little nosy.

I love your workspace. I actually have the malm dressing table which looks to be bigger than your desk, yet mine looks so much more cluttered! I love that you used your desk space so well and everything fits perfectly and nicely.
