A Chat About Blogging

raining cake blog

This blog is over two and half years old now and I’ve been so lucky and overwhelmed with all the support I’ve had since starting it. The relationships I’ve built with my readers and with PR’s, the opportunities that have come my way and not forgetting the friendships that I have built with fellow bloggers. It hasn’t been an easy journey and I didn’t expect it to be at all, I knew it was something that needed nurturing. I have worked my butt off to get it to where it is now and I am by no means a big blogger, but this was just something I wanted to get off my chest for the past month. Lately, there has been a lot of talk about how blogging has changed these days and how it isn’t what it use to be, but really, when do things ever stay the same? The world moves and so does everything else, you need to move with it and adapt to it to ensure you’re keeping ahead, otherwise you’ll just be the one left behind. Being bitter and jealous is just ugly, there is no point in being one of those people. The amount of time you spend being that person, you’re better off trying to improve what you have. This is just my two pence worth really, I didn’t want to make this a long post, at the end of the day, if you can’t keep up with the game, don’t play it, simples!

I've only been blogging for a few months now, and I'm enjoying it so much! I've always loved writing, and now I can share everything with the world. I'm still working on making my blog better, and I'm really excited about it, if being honest. xx

That's great, keep doing what you're doing and enjoy it. This is just about the how bitter some bloggers can get over small things. xx

I have moments of hating blogging, which means i don't post. But i'd rather be happy and inspired when i post rather than just forcing out posts my heart isn't in. I've been blogging over two years now and it's been amazing to meet such lovely people!

It's great meeting new people, I love it! Bitter people just take the fun out of it all and that's what I dislike. xx

You're so right! Yes you may get the odd person who's a bit dodge but for the most part I think bloggers are very friendly and genuine, whether they're a 'big' blogger (hate that term!!) or a newbie. It's evolved greatly but I think the community is still the same. I just don't get people who can't be happy for others, no one gets given anything on a plate…people work hard to get to where they are. You should be proud of yourself for how far you've come! x

Exactly! But the people who moan and get jealous really irritate me. xx

I agree being a blogger is so fun, it's really nice to meet people around the world who share similar interests 🙂 and people need to be happy for other's success!

So true! It's just irritating when people feel the need to be bitter. xx

I don't want to take the fun out of it – so I don't put too much pressure on myself!

That's great, blogging should be fun, it's just when people get jealous and then start ranting about it, that really annoys me. xx

I've always wanted to start a blog and really could never find myself to do so, but I'm glad I did because I love being able to come home to work to something that I am truly passionate about to learn even more about. I just started blogging and can definitely say it's a lot more work than it seems! I really have a whole new appreciation for bloggers.

Thank you for sharing! xoxo .
