Having had an amazing stay at the Holiday Inn, Paris last December, I had the pleasure of experiencing another great stay, but this time, in York. Close to York Racecourse and only two miles from York City Centre, the hotel is set in leafy grounds with plenty of complimentary parking. The room itself was spacious and came complete with a sofa, flat screen TV, a comfortable bed and toiletries. The hotel also has it’s own restaurant which I didn’t get the chance to sample, but having had a little look through the menu, there was a lot of variety which is great. Driving in to the town centre took roughly fifteen minutes, but parking did cost a bomb, the great thing about this hotel is, you can get a direct bus to the city centre right outside the hotel and it only costed a mere £1.20 (bargain compared to London bus prices!). The breakfast area was really lovely and quiet, which meant you could enjoy a nice start to the day with either a full English or continental breakfast. The staff were very friendly and super speedy in helping us with our room and talking us through all the in’s and out’s of York which was really helpful. Overall, I had another lovely stay at the York Holiday Inn and would recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable hotel up North with great service and facilities.
