Last weekend, I took trip down to Brighton. It was the first time in five years and the weather was amazing, enough said. I do love a seaside town and there’s nothing better than taking a nice long walk along the seafront with some fish and chips followed by a classic 99 cone, am I right? Brighton has definitely become the place to be in the last few years and with it only being an hour and a half’s drive away from London, it’s the perfect location for a little getaway if I do say so myself. The town is full of quirky little cafes and shops as well as the bigger, more commercial stores. Restaurants wise, there’s definitely a nice variety, especially if you’re a seafood lover. In today’s post, I am covering three elements of Brighton, where to visit, eat and sleep and I hope you enjoy it and find it useful if you’re planning a trip there.
Visit – Seafront/Brighton Pier – Okay, so this is must, you cannot visit Brighton and not go for a walk along the seafront as well as a trip towards the arcades. You will be met with all the classic fair games and seaside treats such as ice cream, ring doughnuts and rock candy galore. When the weather is lovely, the view is honestly so beautiful and you can see miles and miles of sea which I absolutely love.
Eat – The Mock Turtle Cafe – Tucked away from the hustle and bustle is a cute little cafe called The Mock Turtle. As soon as you step in, you will notice the pretty vintage decor, complete with old china teapots and cakes on glass stands with dollies. I highly recommend trying out the afternoon tea set which includes two warm, spongey scones, cream and jam and a lovely pot of tea. The menu also includes sandwiches and a variety of cakes.
Sleep – The Holiday Inn, Brighton Seafront – Would you like to wake up in the morning, open the curtains to be greeted with a stunning view of the sea? If yes, then The Holiday Inn is the choice for you. With less than a ten-minute walk to the town centre and the Brighton Pier, the newly renovated rooms are relaxing, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was my favourite as the tub was huge which meant I could indulge in a nice warm bath with my favourite Lush bath bomb. There is a restaurant situated on the side of hotel which serves a hot buffet breakfast in the mornings and dinner options throughout in the evening. The decor of the hotel is trendy with a touch of sophistication, it is still under renovation at the moment. but I’m sure that when it’s complete, it will look amazing. Overall, I highly recommend booking a stay at The Holiday Inn, the staff are friendly, the location is great and the view from the room is just perfect.
