Smashbox Cosmetics is a brand that never ceases to amaze me. Launch after launch of incredible new products always gets me drooling and itching to try it out.
During the summer, I attended an event at the Boxpark Shoreditch store and got a full session with one of the top make up artists who demonstrated how to use certain products to its best potential. The finished look on the model included soft contoured features, flushed cheeks and a dark red lip which looked amazing! I was very lucky to be able to take home some of the much loved products plus some new ones to try out and I can confirm that each and every one of them was great to use. My favourite of them all was the Contour Stick Trio. Being a complete noob at trying to perfect the look, I found these really easy to use and thanks to it’s butter soft texture, it was super easy to blend and highlight. The Bronze Lights Bronzer and Baked Fusion Soft Lights Blusher were my next two favourites. The bronzer gave the most gorgeous glow when applied lightly and the blusher is looks slightly too harsh and pink in the pictures, but I promise you that in real life, it’s fantastic. It’s the perfect mix of peach, pink and champagne and gives a real soft finish. Moving on to one of the newer launches, the L.A Lights Blendable Lips and Cheek Color, these are stick form as you can see and the texture is creamy and very pigmented. A little goes a long way, so there is not much blending needed to achieve lovely colour on the lips or cheeks. Lastly, on to eyes and lips, the Photo Angle Pure Pigment Gel Eyeliners are limited edition and come in five colours. I’m not a bright coloured eye liner wearer, so opted to try the brown and it applied very smoothly, literally glided on to my eyelids depositing the right amount of colour and lasted for the whole day without smudging. The original Be Legendary Lipsticks have been a firm favourite of mine for a while, so these one contain a matte formula which I love. They come in five colours and like the gel eyeliners, they’re limited edition, so you got to snap them up quick if you like the sound of them. They apply well, doesn’t bleed and gives a beautiful matte finish to the lips.
Have you tried Smashbox make up before? Do you like the look and sound of these?
