My Christmas this year was a mixture of emotions, it was good because the occasion, naturally, is festive and fun one, full of laughter, food and happy times. I ate a lot, received some amazing presents and generally had a great time celebrating. But deep down, I along with the rest of my family were grieving, I lost my grandpa five days before the 25th, this year was the first Christmas without him. I won’t go in to detail of his passing, long story short, he was ill for quite some time, but you know, I never expected it to happen so quickly and so suddenly, I miss him terribly. A couple of days after it happened, I cried my eyes out thinking about all the times I could have done more for him, all the times I was impatient and back chatted, I wish I never did now. I wish I could have taken him out more, held his hand just like he did when I was young, I will never be able to do that anymore. I know life is full of ups and downs, but I have learnt never to take things for granted. I know that we all need to stick together and be there for each other through this difficult time and staying strong for my grandma is our biggest priority now.

So sorry toners about your grandad. You are right – the best thing is to support your grandma and each other. I feel for you & I know we don't know one another but you genuinely have my sympathy!
