The Perfect Getaway In London

With this year’s goals and aims in place, one of which was to travel more and see the world, plans for the perfect getaway has just upped a notch over at Raining Cake HQ. But before, the bigger trips get put in place, the one town which I don’t explore enough, even though I live in it, is London. I’d love to do more day/evening trips this year, explore more, find tasty restaurants, cute cafes and stay at pretty hotels which we all know, this city has a lot of. I know I already live here, but having the chance to spend the evening in town and stay the night would be so, so lovely which means I don’t have to catch the last train and get home super late.

My perfect getaway in London would consist of a full English breakfast to start, fuel me up for the morning, then a nice walk along the bank, catching views of Big Ben and The London Eye before a little spot of shopping on Oxford Street. After I’ve done some damage to my bank balance, I’d stop off for afternoon tea, how can one resist cake, so I’ll have about ten. Then it’ll be back to shopping again for a little while and depending on how hungry I am, I’ll pop in to Covent Garden where there are restaurants galore and pick one that suits my taste buds. I’m really in to meats at the moment, so maybe a trip to Flat Iron would be ideal. When dinner is done, I’ll head straight back to my hotel, preferably Rosewood as I’ve been there a few times before for events and the rooms look incredible. The decor is definitely something I could stare at for hours on end, especially the copper toned entrance, it literally is life.Winding down for the night, I’ll pour myself a glass or two and catch up with some blog reading, probably have a little pamper too with a nice face mask and some nail painting. Then, when it’s time, it’ll be lights out and a wonderful night’s sleep in a big bed, complete with fluffy pillows and a massive snuggly duvet. Ahhh, my perfect getaway in my favourite city is now firmly in plan.

What is your idea of the perfect getaway and where would you go?
