Haircare Golden Rules With GHD

hair care rules

Do you have any haircare rules that you always stick by? Ones that always work for you and helps you maintain beautiful, flowing locks? I bet you do and I think in some sense, we all do. We all have that one tip or rule that we believe works great for us and we’ll always stand by it. Mine has always been protection and nourishment, for stronger and more manageable hair, an infusion of moisture constantly is always needed. In today’s post, I am sharing three of my golden haircare rules, let me know what you think of them and what your rules are.

ghd paddle brush

Golden Rule One – Invest in a good brush – A good brush with quality bristles can really work wonders for your hair. It shouldn’t pull or tug at the roots, instead, it should let your hair freely run through easing out the tangles and leaving it soft, shiny and tangle free. The GHD Paddle Brush is great for mid to longer length hair and helps me to achieve a sleeker result each time.

ghd advanced split end therapy

Golden Rule Two – Use a repairing and nourishing product – Your hair needs nourishment all the time to ensure it stays strong,  manageable and healthy. Apart from your diet, a good way to maintain hydration for your hair and to repair it is to use a product that feeds moisture in to it. At the moment, my favourite is the GHD Advanced Split End Therapy. It’s a lightweight cream that is activated when heat is applied to it and coats each strand to prevent further damage and repair the ends. It’s also highly nourishing and hydrating which is perfect for me as I use a lot of heat styling tools which quite often dries out my ends and causes it to split.

ghd straight and smooth

Golden Rule Three – Always protect your hair from heat – Now I can’t stress any more than I have about how important it is to ensure hair is protected before any type of heat is applied to it. Be it the hair dryer, hair straighteners, hair wands or even the sun rays, always, always, always apply some sort of protecting and nourishing product to avoid any type damage and breakages later on. The GHD Straight and Smooth Spray calms and smoothes out frizz allowing me to create either super sleek straight hair or a tousled wave look, it honestly works wonders and a definite must try in my opinion.

These are great rules – I'm so bad at remembering to use heat protection spray though! I think my biggest rule is to not wash it too much, I used to wash it daily and it ruined it! x

Ahh, that's a rule I've heard a few times before and definitely something I need to do, but my hair gets so greasy so quickly. xx

My haircare rules are pretty simple, buy good basics and the rest is easy.

I've had my GHDs since I was 16 – to put that into context… I'm not 26!!!! They still work perfectly.

I'm pretty lazy with my haircare routine usually, I try to leave my hair to dry naturally as often as I can. My hair is highlighted so I've got to be careful not to overprocess it.

    Loved reading this post!
