Sometimes life can be tough, we’ve all been there, done that, got the medal and all sorts. Stuck in a rut with no way forward and every day just passes by without you even realising, because it just fades in to the distance. It can sometimes feel like you’ve lost control of your life, even the most successful people you know can hit rock bottom and if that’s the case, then it’s time to make a change, impel forward and get back on the right path. This is your life and you are the one in control. Here are five ways to turn your life around…..
1) Create a plan – Once you’ve look at your current situation from all angles under the sun, it’s time to start making plans to get to where you need to. Question what is holding you back and put everything on to paper, sketches and all sorts. Is it your career? A health goal? Or a lifestyle change? Make sure you map out your objectives and what you need to do to get there. It doesn’t have to be super detailed, just something realistic and the steps to regain control and ultimately make you happier.
2) Wait no longer – You’ve got your plan, so what are you waiting for? Miracles don’t suddenly appear out of nowhere, so don’t wait until everything feels right, you will learn along the way and if you make mistakes, so what, you’ll learn not to do it again. If you let that plan go to waste, then you’ll let your life pass you by, at the end of the day, if the plans don’t scare you, it’s not worth doing, don’t let your past define you.
3) Talk to others – There must be someone you know that you really admire, yes, that person, go talk to them. It doesn’t always have to be a friend or family member, you can try a therapist or online communities where you’ll find others who are also going through the same thing as you. It is definitely very helpful to get those thoughts out and gain some clarity. You will also be helping others by sharing your story, the one feeling greater than receiving is giving.
4) Create meaningful relationships – Let loose relationships that don’t add value to you or your life along with those that also hold you back. Focus and spend time with your true companions, those who have stuck by you through thick and thin and are still here right this second. Forget all that #SquadGoals and blah blah talk, you’ll end up moulding in to what society perceives and that is not true companionship.
5) Work hard – Strive to be better every single year and work on something that requires a challenge, takes time and is risky. You get out of life exactly what you put in, work hard and do what makes YOU happy. If you want to change, stop getting in your own way and you’ll soon reap the rewards. Make sure you also check in on your goals, quite often, we set them and forget about them, so keep little reminders everywhere you go and keep reminding yourself that you’ve got this.
Remember, YOU have complete control of your life, don’t wait any longer to create that positive change.
