There’s something special about duty free shopping, not only because you know that you’re getting products for a cheaper price, but also because it counts as part of the start of your holiday, it’s that experience, the joy, the happiness , the memories and I haven’t met anyone yet who dislikes the experience of duty free. Even if they’re looking for anything particular to purchase, it’s the whole excitement of going on holiday in general and duty free is an added bonus.
My experience at duty has always been a pleasurable one, I actually go to the airport early, just so I have enough time to browse the shops and grab a bite before my flight. I particularly enjoy checking through all the beauty counters and the one product I always pick up, every time, without a doubt, is a new perfume. The reason behind this is because that particular scent will always remind me of that holiday I’m going on, so each perfume picked up at duty free is always a memorable one. Duty free is also perfect for getting travel exclusive sets, those ones that can’t be bought anywhere else apart from the airport which again, is always super special.
Prior to my flight to Ibiza earlier this month, I stopped off at the Jo Malone stand at Stansted airport for one of their hand and arm massages, they actually do these at all Jo Malone stands in UK airports and the best thing about it? They’re absolutely free and require no booking at all. It was a lovely touch and a bit of relaxation, just before the flight which is perfect for those who do get a bit nervous during flights.
Apart from shopping, just being at the airport, getting ready to go on holiday is a lovely experience and each time, it’s always special and memorable.
Do you travel often? If yes, do you enjoy shopping in duty free?
