All About That Glow

So I’m all about that glow, who’s with me? Whether it’s a bronzed glow or a highlighting glow, I am all about that ‘looking like a champagne bottle’ life. I love a good highlighter, the more shimmery, the better and in today’s post, I have rounded up some of my favourites to talk you through.

As you can see from the state of the powder, I am extremely devastated by what has happened, but I refuse to let this deter me from the beauty of this highlighter. Never have I see one product be hyped so much in the blogging world and at the point that I managed to get my hands on it, it was still only available in the US, but now we all know it’s available here in the UK (hallelujah!). Champagne Pop is just the perfect highlighter all round, it’s warm, golden and contains just the right amount of shimmer to create the perfect, dazzling glow. I recently purchased the same product but in the limited edition shade, Rose Quartz and I’m yet to try it, but it looks so beautiful, I’m sure it will be just as good.

Lottie London Shimmer Squad

This shimmering quad is relatively new to my collection, but I already love it. The palette contains four highlighting shades all of which are suitable for any skin tones. The powders are buttery and easy to apply, I find using a fan brush with these, allow them to spread more evenly on my skin. Each shade is blendable and buildable for that perfect highlight and the quad is also great for travelling too. For £9.95, it’s super affordable in my opinion and they will last ages.

The only cream textured highlighter of the bunch, I am definitely more of a pressed powder fan due to my skin type, but this cream one is an exception because it’s just so damn good. Polished is more of a pearly opal shade, Topshop also stock another shade called Gleam which is more of a golden apricot. I usually dab this on to the high point of my cheekbones and blend it in gently. The effect is a soft iridescent glow, so if you prefer a more subtle highlight, this is the one for you. Sometimes, I add on a powder highlight on top of this, just to give it a more ‘wow’ effect, especially for nights out, it is the perfect combination.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Global Glow

This gem of a highlight is the one I reach for if I am looking for that ‘Hi, I’m here and in your face’ effect because I’m telling you now, this one is dazzling to the extent that people may have to put sunglasses on (haa, that was dramatic), but really, Global Glow is one hell of a highlight. A little goes a long way with this one, I tend to just use it with gentle dabs and it creates the most gleaming glow you can imagine.

I first mentioned this kit in my ‘Instagram Make Up Favourites’ post and since then, I have used it almost every day because it is the perfect ‘everyday’ highlighter kit. Each powder is soft and creamy with just the right amount of shimmer, nothing too OTT and super subtle. I particularly like the Crushed Pearl shade because it’s goes with my skin tone really well and enhances my features. The kit itself is quite big which I love, because ‘girl’s gotta get her money’s worth’ right? So if you’re looking to invest in a palette highlighter kit, then this is the one I would recommend.

The above concludes my ‘glow kit’ as I like to call it. Do you have a favourite or lots of favourite highlighters? Do let me know because I’d love some recommendations.

Champagne pop is beautiful and I really need to invest in it soon as I am currently loving my Becca highlighter in Opal.
I like using a good highlighter nowadays to hide that dull skin during the winter period.

Great recommendations. Have a lovely day ♥
