We’ve all been there before, everyone has a rough day now and again – failing an exam, unsuccessful job application, losing your phone, forgetting your lunch, the list goes on and you know what – s**t happens and we all move on. Sometimes it is hard to get out of a slump, but there are ways to help you. Here’s 5 tips on how to get through a rough day…..

Ask for support
If you want help, don’t be afraid to ask for it. Our friends and family are ultimately, the ones who can get us through a tough day. Regardless of how much they can do, even a little hug, a cup of tea or a simple ‘you will be fine’ is enough to lift our spirits tenfold.
Think of others
When you realise there are probably countless others out there who are in a worse off situation than you, it makes you think twice about how you feel. Knowing that others have been through what you’re going through and have come out on top gives us the courage to move on and do the same.

Have something to look forward to
There is always something to look forward to at the end of everything. Something simple as a meal out with my friend or a shopping trip with my mum at the end of a tough day always keeps me smiling. I mean, even leaving work on time is something to look forward to, haa!
Remember that’s its only temporary
Always, always, always remember, the most important thing is – when life is dealt with a bad hand, it’s only temporary and it may look dull and bleak at the moment, but the good old saying of ‘time will heal’ does hold truth in all situations.

The strength is within you
Of course, there is only so much someone can tell you on how to deal with a rough day, but ultimately, it is down to how you feel and the strength within you to get through it. You can either continuing moping about or choose to deal with the situation with a positive mind-set.

I love the quote “it’s a bad day, not a bad life”. I definitely think it’s important to remember that in the grand scheme of things we’re very lucky, although it’s hard to think that way sometimes when you’re not feeling too great xx
