Ahhh, the idea of beach holiday appeals to me so badly right now – I love swimming in the sea, sunbathing on the sand and generally living my best life by the beach. When preparing and packing for a beach holiday, I actually find it harder than packing for a city trip or a cold climate holiday because there is just so much more options in terms of clothing and even with beauty products - there’s more to take in general, don’t you agree? Haa! With sunny destinations, packing aside, there’s also other things to remember to do, so in today’s post, I wanted to share 5 things to remember when going on a beach holiday, let me know if your thoughts are the same…..

Don’t forget the sunscreen
Putting this first because it’s the most important beauty product to pack for a beach holiday. Sunscreen should be applied liberally every few hours whilst in the sun and be reapplied after getting out of water and showering. As much fun as you’re having, always remember that your health is important too.

Take a book
Because the best place to indulge in a good book is by the beach, am I right or am I right? Haa! Most people I know always say they’re too busy for books so the ideal opportunity to settle down to read is on the beach. Coupled with the heat of the rays, the sound of the sea – I mean, it’s pretty much paradise in my opinion.

Stay hydrated
The heat can take its toll on your body, so carrying a bottle of water with you at all times is key to keep hydrated. Sipping water every half an hour ensures your body is keeping up with fluids as well as keeping those dizzy spells at bay. If you finish your bottle by the time the day ends, some bars actually top up your bottle for you for free. So keep that in mind too.

Go to the beach and watch the sunrise or set
Honestly, a sunrise or sunset makes the best pictures to remember your adventures by. Ask at your hotel or even the locals in the area what the best time to catch the sunrise/set and pop along to the beach armed with your camera/phone and take some snaps. You will more than likely find a ton of others on the same boat and you never know, you might make some new friends.

Enjoy the moment
All in all, beach holidays are for you to enjoy the moment and be totally absorbed in finding relaxation in everyday life. I always appreciate how lucky I am to be in a position to be able to jet off, enjoy and capture the moments for memories. Not everyone has the opportunity to do so, so I’m always grateful for every trip that I can go on.
