No woman needs a complicated skincare nor make up routine. In this day and age, we want skin that glows and a make-up base that’s flawless in the little time we have to get ready on a daily basis. In today’s post, I am sharing my top 6 tips for getting gorgeous and glowing skin.

Tip 1 – Invigorate the cleanse
During cleansing, give your skin a gentle, yet invigorating massage too. This gets the blood pumping and causes it to rise to the surface giving your skin that natural, pink glow. A good cleanse also sets the base for smooth make up application. Garnier Botanical Gel Wash with Green Tea is perfect for my combination skin and smells amazing.

Tip 2 – Brighten the eyes
If you don’t use eye cream – why aren’t you? This needs to be a must in every skincare routine to ensure the skin around the eyes is always looked after. Because the skin around the eyes is so thin, it is prone to sensitivity, so it’s always best to use an eye cream that’s gentle, yet effective. I love the Gatieau Perfection Ultime Miracle Eye Contour Cream which not only conceals imperfections, but also treats dark circles.

Tip 3 – Use a sponge for even foundation application
Dot your nose, forehead and cheeks with foundation and use a sponge to blend it in. Not only does this create an even application, it leaves the skin with a dewy, yet flawless finish. Always use the sponge to blend in and never pour the product on the sponge as this just completely soaks the sponge and isn’t as effective. My current go-to make up sponges are the Real Techniques Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges and the Brushworks Miracle Silicone Sponge which actually uses much less foundation than brushes and is super easy to use.

Tip 4 – Powder all, but your cheeks
Dab some powder only on your t-zone area (forehead, nose and chin). Keep the cheeks relatively powder free for that little bit of extra dewiness. I swear by the Make Up Forever High Definition Powder – it’s so finely milled and glides on to skin like a dream. As it’s translucent, it leaves no residue behind, just a smooth and flawless base.

Tip 5 – Highlight the inner corners of your eyes
For the eyes to really pop, yet give a natural, flawless finish, add some light gold eyeshadow to the inner corners of the eye to really brighten them up. Use a small blender brush to gently blend in the colour for that perfect finish. The GOSH Forever Eyeshadow Crayon in Beige has been my favourite for that touch of shimmer, I normally dab a little in the corners and gently blend.

Tip 6 – Add the rosy finishing touch
Lastly, add a touch of pink blusher for rosy cheeks and some highlighter to really make the cheekbones glow. I use a combination of the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer which I actually use as a blusher thanks to its rosy tones and the MUA Prism Highlighter in Light Spark to achieve my natural, flawless look.
