Your girl over here is a die-hard Essie nail polish fan – no matter how far I go, no matter how many new brands launch nail polish – Essie always have my back (just a note – I swear by the Gel Platinum Top Coat, it’s the best to coat EVER!). I have been using their nail polishes for years and years and never have they let me down and they are always coming at me with the goods, always.
I waddle between the classic collection and the gel collection which are both absolutely amazing. Both collections have a stunning range of colours and I am, all too often, spoilt for choice. I have to admit, my favourites have always been the pastel shades, but I also love a bright pink or red. If, like me, you’re also a nail polish addict, then Essie is your girl. Read below for a breakdown on each collection and why I enjoy using them so much.
Essie Classic Collection
My first ever Essie nail polish was actually the shade Fiji because I had seen it on so many other blogs. It still is, to this day, my favourite colour closely followed by Mint Candy Apple (if you know, you know, haa!). The classic collection houses a ton of amazing colours and they are constantly bringing out limited edition shades which always breaks my bank balance. The consistency of the classic collection polish is slightly on the runnier side, which makes it super easy to apply with the thin shaped, yet full bristled brush applicator. Two coats usually does me well and the colour normally lasts a good four days before I see any chips.
Essie Gel Couture
When Essie brought out their Gel Couture collection, I was all over it like a rash. I have tried many other gel nail polishes and none have really made the cut – then, I discovered the top coat from the gel range and that was it, I was sold completely. The gel collection bottles are rather unique – I love the twisted style bottle which gives it that special little touch. Like most nail polish applications, the gel polish requires two coats and then one coat of the Gel Platinum Top Coat. The consistency of the gel polish is thicker and the brush is ever so slightly flatter which makes applying the polish easy with an even coverage. The longevity is incredible, I can go six days without seeing a chip in sight.
Both collections are what I reach for when I need to jazz up my nails, I get asked so many questions in regards to where my nail polish is from and it’s pretty much, always Essie! What is your favourite nail polish brand?
