You Want That Glow? Here’s How

how to get glowing skin

If you find yourself in need of a glow up, then you have come to the right place, this post is dedicated to anyone who wants/needs that glow.

We often neglect or forget the simple things in life that can be utilised to take care of our skin – drinking enough water, using the right moisturiser, having the right amount of sleep etc. So I have put all my favourite tips in to this one post, honestly, it’s not as hard as you would think it is. Read on to find out more…..

Beauty sleep is real

Getting those zzz’s really matter and having enough of it constantly can make a huge difference to your skin. Getting at least six hours kip allows your skin to rest and regenerate allowing any products that you have put on your face to sink in and do its work. While your mind is in a rested state, it’s also a great time to try meditation to de-stress, in turn, helping your skin to relax and absorb positive energy.

Downing a silly ton of water

Just like your mother taught you, the quickest and easiest way to look and feel fresh is to drink water. Your skin is made up of majority water, so when you don’t have enough, your skin will look less plump and dehydrated. Researchers found that drinking two litres of water a day increases the skin’s denseness and thickness, so with that in mind, all I can say is ‘get those glasses down you pronto’.

Serum please!

A good skincare routine really isn’t that hard to follow and once you know what to use, you can do it with your eyes closed, trust me on this one. And the most important parts of skincare, in my opinion is serum and moisturiser. Serum is what you put on straight after cleansing, and you definitely want something that is potent enough to deliver deep in to your skin. I am an avid fan of Rosehip Plus’s Cold Press Rosehip Oil for saving my skin in times of need and switch to W=HB2 Power Duo Face Serum for my daily glow. This two-phase product works a treat to ensure my skin is radiant, supple and hydrated.

Moisturising is key

Another ‘just like your mother taught you’ point, if all else fails, moisturiser is something that is key to your skincare routine and dare I say it, the penultimate of it all. Never ever skip moisturiser if you want to maintain glowing skin - pick a good one and you’re winning for sure. My current favourite is from Jurlique’s Herbal Recovery range – the Signature Moisturising Cream and Signature Moisturising Lotion. Both have exactly the same properties, just that the lotion is a bit more lightweight, whereas the cream is thicker and richer making it perfect for using at night. My skin always feels and looks dewy, nourished and gleaming after using each moisturiser.

Highlighter is probably one of my favourite parts of a make-up routine, because you can be as subtle as you want or really go for it and produce a glow that even space can see. Either way, highlighters are made to help achieve a glow on your skin, so have fun, play around and see what you can do. If you want one recommendation for a highlighter, I would definitely suggest giving Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop a whirl – BEST HIGHLIGHTER EVER!
