Queensland - one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is the home to many of the world's natural wonders. Daintree Rainforest, and the Great Barrier Reef. It is coastal living like no other, and you can sun soak for most of the year. It provides visitors with an idyllic island life vibe and is something that people go back for year on year.
So, here are a few things that you should check out when you make your big trip to Queensland.
Great Barrier Reef
Of course, this had to be number one. Not only is it one of the most famous places in Queensland, but the world. We all understand and admire the fact that the Great Barrier Reef is the world's most significant single structure made by living organisms. It stretches a massive 200km and is made up of a gigantic 2900 reefs. The marine life won’t be rivaled anywhere else and to truly get the most of the location you should book a few tours of The Great Barrier Reef.
The reason Fraser Island is so cool is that it is the largest sand island in the world. You’ll need to catch a ride from a seaplane or a ferry from Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay, but the views while you wait are stunning - so it isn't a hardship. Fraser Island consists of over 250km of beautiful soft, warm white sand and then suddenly you will find yourself taking a dip in the salty rock pools at Champagne Pools or the freshwater of Eli Creek. But don’t worry, of course, with all that activity you are bound to get hungry, and more than a little thirsty. There is Eurong Beach Resort for you to get a nice cold drink and some more than delectable food.
If you are ready to experience the rainforest like never before then here is where you should go. This 12,000km rainforest has everything from waterfalls to beaches. And interestingly it is the only place where two world heritage sites are joined. The biodiversity is difficult to rival and can only really be understood by seeing it first hand. But you’ll find mangroves, swamplands, sandy beaches, massive ancient trees and plenty of wildlife. In fact, the longer you walk, the more you’ll begin to feel like you are in a wildlife program.
If you are one for thrill-seeking, you are going to want to head to The Gold Coast. The Gold Coast is the home of Dreamworld which is packed out with rides for all members of the family, Wiggles World and if you’ve ever wanted to hug a Koala - here is probably where you’re going to do it. Queensland is ideal for photographers too. Having such a range of activities and sights to see there won’t be a moment that goes by where you don’t have your shutters going. It truly is one of the most spectacular places on earth - with more to do than you can possibly imagine.
