#AD - This post is in collaboration with Protest Sportswear
Year, after year, summer is always the season that I look forward to and get excited about. I’m pretty sure I have mentioned it on here before, that everyone just seems so much happier when the sun is shining and we can all be outdoors enjoying the heat. As with the current situation, I am still hopeful that we can and will enjoy a summer regardless of where we are and who we’re with and with that in mind, I have teamed up with Protest to bring you this post talking top bikini trends.
Protest was founded by a small group of snowboarders in Holland and mostly specialise in clothing to support core riders. However, they also realised that people still want to look good doing sports, so they added a more trendy element to their range. From womens bikinis to men's boardshorts, there's definitely something for everyone to choose from and the good thing about it, is everything is very afforable and made from great quality material.
The Floral Bikini
I mean, summer is all about those fresh and flowery vibes, so the floral bikini is one trend that will always be popular. Be it a disty, vintage or botanical print, you can never go wrong. With floral prints, I love the triangle bikini styles, mainly because they look ever so cute on and they are so versatile, you can really style them up for any beach/pool occasion. Floral bikinis also look great in any colour form, I adore pink, so naturally opted that shade, but blues, greens and yellows also look fab in any flowery print.
The Classic Black and White
When we say classic, it really is classic, the most timeless trend – that is the black and white. I would say, my swimwear-drobe consists of 80% black and white pieces, no lie, just because it’s so easy to wear and looks great on. Regardless of what style, whether it’s push up bikini, the bandeau or a tankini, black and white will never fail. This cutout bikini I chose from Protest is perfect for days on holiday where I’m lazing around the pool, with my book and a nice cocktail and not having to worry if I look stylish because a classic black and white swimwear piece will not disappoint.
I never use to be a one-piece gal, I LOVED my bikinis, but over the last few years, I have started to enjoy wearing them more and they have somewhat become super trendy. They are, again, another classic, especially when you want something quick and easy to put on and style and if you’re on an adventure holiday where you need to travel around a lot, one-pieces are great as they give so much support. I particularly love the low back, high leg ones as they definitely accentuate in the right places and look super sexy on. Lastly, with swimsuits, they also double up as bodies to wear during a day out, paired with some shorts and a cute little checked shirt, voila!
