#AD - This post is in collaboration with Protest Sportswear
And just like that, winter is on its way - this year has gone by in a bit of a whirlwind as you may all agree and as we approach the festive season, it only means one thing - cold winter days and like most, buying clothing to combat the dropping temperatures can be fun, but you don't want to overdo it and purchase too many unnecessary items. So, in today's post, in collaboration with Protest Sportswear, here's my must-have clothing items you need this winter.
Big, chunky puffer jackets have been a trend items for the past three/four winter seasons and it's definitely not going away any time soon. This black one I have from Protest is actually a womens ski jacket and it's my definition of a massive cuddle in a clothing item. It's so, so warm and perfect for the ever changing British weather right now. I love the fact that it's waterproof also and has a few compartments to store belongings especially as it is designed for extreme sports, having extra pockets means it's handy for small items like phones, iPods etc. There are also mens ski jackets from the same brand that also have similar features to to the womens one.
Knitted vests have literally taken up my whole Instagram feed by storm and if you know me, I like to jump on a bandwagon. This dogtooth one is actually one of four that I have and I absolutely love it! Worn mainly with a white shirt underneath, I feel that it can be dressed up or down and it definitely gives me that layer of warmth during the winter. I would also say when it comes to winter tops, a good fitted womens fleece is also a must-have during the colder season because there's nothing quite like that soft, teddy material feel on the skin. If you like the oversized look like me, I sometimes opt for a mens fleeces just to feel extra snuggly.
Pleather trousers are definitely a look during the autumn/winter season and for me, I feel they will never go out of fashion. They go with absolutely everything in my wardrobe and I particularly like teaming them up with big, chunky jumpers and a puffer jacket. These ones that I have on are lined which make them super warm, so they're perfect to take from autumn all the way through to spring.
Chunky Platform Boots
I am a massive fan of the whole platform boots trend, especially when worn with a cute jumper dress and a leather look jacket. I think the whole look is fashionable as well as practical and a pair of chunky ankle boots just completely finish off an outfit. The best thing about platform boots is, one, it gives you a little bit of extra height and two, they are comfy to wear all day, so they're a definite must-have in my winter shoe-drobe.
